Inspiration behind this collection:

These words from Jesus are so kind and true. As we turn the page on a new year, He reminds us all, that our own striving isn’t what sustains our days or our years. Yes we get to work (there’s great joy in a job well-done), but our efforts aren’t what keep the stars in the sky and our worries aren’t what ultimately bring about food on a table or blood pumping through our veins. Look at the birds of the air, indeed. So beautiful and fed. Their trust in His provision results in song. May it be so in our lives.

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

…But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you,” (Matthew 6:25-26, 33).
